Early on Election Day, November 5th. 2024,

It’s Election Day, November 5th. 2024,

There are no results yet but I voted in Texas, I voted early and I voted strait Republican. I’m fairly confident of the outcome here in Texas, we’ll re-elect Ted Cruze and the State’s Electoral College Electors will be for Trump/Vance, I hope the Republicans down ballot also benefit.

There are a couple of caveats however. As the State of Texas grows, more and more people migrate here from the Democrat heartlands, East & West coast, Rustbelt and Midwest a few of them, perhaps even a significant number are bringing their politics with them. The very reasons most of them are here is because of the political and social dogs dinner Democrats have created in the States they are fleeing, yet they persist.

Secondly, there is the (appearance) of a substantial gender gap. Obama, a truly flawed President was the first (half) black man to run for the office and in my opinion was elected because of that and his impressive silver tongue. Harris is the first woman to run, she, like Obama has virtually no track-record of substance and claims lots of DEI brownie points for her ‘Minority’ status as being non-white and female. All that compounded by the Boogeyman of ‘Abortion’.

Abortion, Reproductive Rights, A Women’s Right to Choose, whatever it’s called today. Roe v Wade was the work of a progressive and activist SCOTUS, it has been overruled by a subsequent SCOTUS and returned to the States. Leftist/Progressives are trying desperately to construe this as an outright Nationwide ban on abortion, it’s not. The support for unrestricted access to abortion, even at full-term is low but activists have created a false narrative and a political red-herring where none exist.

Strangely, the Leftist/Progressives have opened the border to millions of strangers, unvetted Foreigners, Rapists Murderers and Criminals, (violent or otherwise) and all they would offer in return is unlimited access to abortion for their female victims. They will punish us all for being American, giving these interlopers access to legal status, fast-track Citizenship, and thus create a new, permanent Democrat voting bloc.

A bad result in this Election Cycle could be the beginning of the end for our Republic.

The Perfect Storm. When does Conspiracy Theory become Conspiracy Fact.

Politically, Socially. Economically we in the West seem to have suddenly arrived in the very heart of, or have become the center of ‘The Perfect Storm’.

As a weather phenomena storms are transient, they constantly move, move-on and change, Having said that, ever since Man has been able to view it, the Great Red Spot storm on planet Jupiter, a storm the size of our planet, continues apparently unabated, cause unknown.  Does the size and intensity dictate a storm’s duration; perhaps.

It would be easy to continue the analogy, especially through the impending nightmare winter (2022-23) most of Europe is about to have to endure. The threat of the potential consequences are such that unless we analyze and understand how we arrived at this point, how the various factors combined to create the disaster, the aid likely to be so desperately needed could potentially be misdirected or at least not directed to where it can do most good. Facts are that there’s unlikely to be enough timely help available so that which is needs be directed for both maximum relief and benefit.

We must come to grips with the fact that this ‘Perfect Storm’ is of our own creation, all be it ably assisted by the likes of Putin & Xi.

Boris Johnson – Gone but not forgotten.

I’m Conservative, party member and voter. I’ve been less than happy with the Johnson Cabinet(s) and the party’s slide towards Social Democratism.

His administration adopted Net-Zero,  a Green Agenda and has an insatiable apatite for other peoples money. Tax & Spend until our eyes water. A Brexit deal that, after May’s sabotage, has allowed the EU and the Republic to effectively annex Northern Ireland. Add in an Energy crisis, long in the making but none the less definitely on Boris’s watch, unfunded Covid furloughs and potentially World War III starting up in Ukraine, we’re headed for that ‘Perfect Storm’.

This is a crisis, it’s for real, it’s not about ‘partygate’ or even a touchy-feely gay Deputy Chief Whip it’s about massive inflation, power-cuts, energy rationing and food shortages. Voters, citizens sitting at home in the cold, in the dark and hungry as the Economy spirals down out of control. We’re talking Depression not just Recession. So while Boris was away, Ukraine, G7, NATO etc.  A group of his Cabinet Ministers engineered a coup and now we have an Administration ham-strung by it’s own MPs while they squabble amongst themselves to establish a new pecking order. If they go on like this, come the next election the Parliamentary Party will be able to fit in a mini-bus.

For me it’s increasingly clear that there is currently only the one Big Government Party and a few Nationalist groups in Parliament. Pro-EU with the Radical (Islington) Left represented by Labour, Authoritarian Green Left, the Lib-Dems and  Left of center Social Democrats calling themselves Conservative.

This is unsustainable!

Bleeding the Russian Bear.

As I write this we are currently at 18 going on 19 days into Putin’s Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Here in the UK, on the edge of Europe, things are not looking so good. We were already well down the road towards stagflation after nearly two years of COVID regulation intimidation and outright Government profligacy. Meanwhile we and our neighbors across the Channel in Europe developed an apatite for and a dependency on cheap hydrocarbons from Putin’s Russia.

We had turned away from the obvious warning signs of Russian expansionism and more specifically Putin’s recklessness. His (Russia’s) use of both Nuclear & Biological weapons (poisons) to murder individual Russian expatriates here in the UK, seemingly without regard to the the potential for collateral casualties amongst innocent civilian . His willingness to shoot civilian aircraft from the sky (Malaysia Airlines Flight 17) and to forcefully invade, occupy and annex Crimea were apparently not warning enough. The cheap hydrocarbons trumped everything!

Now Putin has started World War III.

I could be wrong, I hope and (as far as I’m able) pray that I am wrong but the signs are not good. In my opinion, from an historical perspective, the signs are already bad and getting worse by the day. We have a large (Eastern) European nation, led by a Megalomaniac, invading a European neighbor state. It’s hard not to see the historical significance of the similarities; and it gets worse. The Megalomaniac has got both a Nuclear and a Biological Arsenal and has threatened to escalate if the rest of Europe and or it’s Allies aid the victims of his aggression. Meanwhile Xi and his CCP sit and watch from the wings, eying up both Taiwan and Putin’s hydrocarbons while the United States navel-gazes under the leadership of an ancient and infirm political lightweight a long way past his very limited best.

War is not always and only military. War is an economic activity. Anyone in the West who thinks that we are not at War needs to look again. This is Economic Warfare on a Global scale. Commodity prices of all kinds are volatile, way beyond normal Market Forces yet nobody seems to be asking where all this ‘instant wealth’, cash money is going. Suddenly, those Western Governments who have massively underfunded their defense for years think they can play catch-up overnight while their economies are set for potential tail-spins. Does increasing defense spending as a percentage of a declining economy constitute real, actual tangible improvements in military capability. When?

Which brings me back to Putin, the Russian State he appears to control and his military invasion of Ukraine. Already we are seeing signs that many of those politicians who turned a blind-eye to his escalating belligerence, now, less than 3 weeks into his floundering military campaign are promoting ‘cease-fires’, ‘compromise’ and ‘a way out’ for Putin. Of course this is always at Ukraine’s expense. Having seen how Putin has acted in both Crimea and in the Eastern Ukraine does anyone seriously believe this would be anything more than an opportunity for Putin to resupply and reorganize his forces before continuing his attempted takeover of Ukraine?

There is in my view one potential area of opportunity. The Russian Military has proven itself a very blunt instrument. It’s massed military might has been proven to be well past it’s best, it’s most effective. Russian mechanized forces are proving to be poorly manned, poorly maintained and poorly supplied and thus extremely vulnerable to modern Western defensive munitions and weapons systems operated by motivated defenders. So it’s time to shrink their military machine. Old out-of-date equipment must be ground down, destroyed as and whenever possible and, regrettably, their occupants sent home in body-bags. The Ukraine and it’s military must be supported and equipped by the West with the best we can produce. Their defense will become the anvil upon which the remains of the old Soviet Empire’s war machine will be beaten back into Ploughshares even as we disassemble the Russian Economy and it’s Putin supporting oligarchs.

We have spent generations actively preventing characters like Putin having unfettered access to stockpiles of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Now is not the time to stop. His threats cannot and must not be ignored. If Russia cannot or will not remove their nihilistic leader then it too must be reduced to the point where the threat it poses becomes contained and negligible.

We are at (an undeclared) War with Putin’s Russia. There is likely to be considerable and perhaps prolonged hardship imposed on the less wealthy of us in the West. If we must pay the price then our Political Class must understand that, having taken us here without consultation or consent, we hold them responsible for our victory. There will ultimately be an accounting!

Brexit – We could have, should have, and nearly did make it.

That Christmas Eve deal felt all wrong at the time!

Having rolled blithely through every negotiations deadline set by the UK side, despite all the warning signs, as if by magic, on Christmas Eve, in a festive spirit of mutual Goodwill and cooperation We Allowed Brussels to Screw Us!

I have to admit Barnier played a blinder. He had a game plan and he stuck rigidly to it, never saw him (genuinely) flinch once, unlike the feckless Whitehall and Westminster swamp rats we had to rely on.

So now we have an EU administrative Border down the middle of  the Irish Sea, being enforced by UK Customs no less. We have EU fishing boats continuing to plunder our fishing grounds while our shellfish catch rots waiting to be admitted to the EU

Brexit Ultralight; but when?

It would appear that we are about to be given the (B)ill for Mrs. May’s election debacle last year (2017).

A Tory government in disarray, forced to compromise with it’s rabbid Remainer faction because it’s Leader called and lost an unnecessary election.

I believe, and will continue to argue that, far from Mrs. May having won, even just held-on to power (though she did), Corbyn and the Socialists were the big losers. They were unable to dislodge a deeply divided and flawed Tory Government. It is an important distinction, failure to understand which, could easily consign the Tory Party to a Never-never Land along with, or possibly even in place of the Lib-Dems.

Mrs. May as Tory Leader and Prime Minister is still a solid Remainer. I am convinced that her purpose, as far as possible, is to ‘mitigate’  what she perceives as the ‘harmful’ effects of the Brexit she has (unwillingly) undertaken to implement in her bid for personal power. She and her ego see her leadership as a means to move us away from our error in the 2016 Referendum by stretching Brexit even beyond the term of this government. Strangely she seems able to control her cabinet with steel resolve undaunted by her abysmal performance in the 2017 Election and Party Conference but unable to resist even the most outlandish Brexit bargaining maneuvers of the Brussels elite. Perhaps the parsons daughter  would punish us for having made the wrong choice back in June 2016.

As a final thought, having seen the way Remainer May abases herself and by extension our Nation before the apparatchiks of the EU can the Premiership of our once Great Britain be such a poison chalice that none will dislodge her?
