Less is Best

As a Conservative with Libertarian leanings,  I believe that, in just about any circumstance, less is best.

This is particularly true of so-called modern western democracies where what passes for stability has fostered an almost exponential growth in government.

When the economy is good government (politicians) tells us we can afford to borrow money to make things better quicker and to keep the economy on track and growing. Then, when the economy performs worse than expected, the same political class assure us that, rather than cut-back we should borrow even more. After all, we must continue to finance their promises as well as help those 'impacted' by a faltering economy more often than not, caused by the ineptitude of those same politicians.
